Adoption Fee And Deposit

Regarding our adoption fee: We are often asked, “Why do you charge so much for a rescue pet? Why not just place it in a ‘good home’?” The answer is because we need adopters who are willing to support ALL of our rescued dogs, not just the one they are adopting. A young, healthy dog might cost us $250-$400 in (discounted) vet care to prepare it for adoption, and many people will want to adopt that dog.

An older dog or a special needs dog, or a dog with health issues can easily cost us $500-$2,000 in veterinary expenses, and it may require months of foster care to prepare such a dog for adoption. Yet, for a senior dog or a special needs dog, we can only ask a minimal adoption fee, and it may be a long time until anyone comes forward to adopt it.

Fees from the younger, more adoptable dogs help offset the cost of caring for the others who need us. Most of our dogs have a sad story to tell, and some have suffered through years of neglect or abuse.

We hope that you are willing to help us offer a better life to ALL of our animals by supporting them through our adoption fees. Without these adoption fees, we would not be able to save the lives that we save.

Our Commitment to Excellence

We prioritize quality in everything we do. We recognize that bringing a new Rescue pet into your home is a significant decision, and we take our duty to provide you with a healthy, well-bred Rescue Rescue pet seriously. Our thorough process includes:

Careful Breeding Practices: Our  program is built on the careful selection of cats with sound genetics, ensuring that the health, temperament, and appearance of our Rescue pets align with the best characteristics of the Rescue breed.

Comprehensive Health Checks: The health of every Rescue pet is our main concern. We conduct regular veterinary examinations, vaccinations, and health checks to avoid hereditary issues, ensuring that every Rescue pet we place in a home is in excellent health. We also keep our Rescue pets up-to-date with vaccinations, deworming, and other necessary health protocols.

Early Socialization: Rescues are intelligent and social animals that thrive on companionship. To ensure they develop into well-adjusted, confident cats, we start socializing our Rescue pets at an early stage by exposing them to different environments, sounds, people, and other animals. This helps them grow into friendly and adaptable pets, ready to form strong bonds with their new families.

Ongoing Support: Our commitment doesn’t stop once a Rescue pet leaves for its new home. We’re here to provide continuous guidance on training, nutrition, health, and general care for your Rescue. As part of our Hopeful Tails Rescue Sanctuaryfamily, you’ll have access to expert support whenever you need it.
